And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

I had a ‘God experience’ a few months back.  The week before this incident, the boot of my car got broken.  It would no longer open no matter how hard I tried.  It was jammed.  This was very inconveniencing for me but I made a mental note to get it fixed as soon as I had some space.  One morning, as I prayed in the spirit at the start of the day, I heard clearly in my spirit ‘pray about your boot.’  I thought that was an awkward prayer request but because I knew that it was the voice of the Holy spirit I heard, I stopped praying in the spirit, and prayed a simple prayer.– Lord, please, in the name of Jesus, fix my boot.  There is after all nothing impossible with you.

I then switched back to praying in tongues and concluded my prayer routine.    2 days later, with my boot still not working, I went out to get groceries and as I drove in to the carpark, I heard a loud bang.  Someone had hit my car from behind.  I came out and assessed my car.  There was very little damage – just a light scratch.  I had a conversation with the man who hit the car and let him go.  I called my husband who encouraged me to give God thanks that the accident wasn’t worse.  I agreed with him and thanked God.  As I returned to the car, I heard in my spirit, the same way I heard the prayer point two days earlier, ‘I used that incident to fix your boot’

I was shocked!  I ran right to my boot and tried to unlock it.  Immediately, I touched it, it opened!

I am writing this blog post about 4 months after this incident happened and my boot is still functioning perfectly.

Romans 8:28 is one of my favourite scriptures.  Our God is able to make all things work together for good to the believer who loves Him.  The accident wasn’t a pleasant experience but God used it to fix another problem that I had.  God caused the situation to become a win-win situation for me.  No major impact on my car yet, my boot was fixed.  I want to encourage you.  It doesn’t matter what life has thrown at you.  A divorce.  A diagnosis.  Unpleasant surprises.  A car accident.  A betrayal.  It doesn’t matter.  Ours is a God who is able to, in His sovereignty make these things work together for your good.  Your own part is to love Him and trust Him.  The enemy may have meant your situation for evil but ours is a God who is a master at turning things around for the good of His children.

Dear God, your word says I should thank you in all situations.  Even if I don’t feel like it, I thank you for my life and for all I am going through now.  I declare my trust in your ability to work all things out for my good so I give you praise and thanks in advance in Jesus name I have prayed!
